When Abby and I moved out here almost five years ago, my only real worry was making sure I didn’t miss a single Ohio State football game. I was fortunate to find the Bay Area Buckeyes Alumni group, and even happier to learn that they met to watch the games just a block from our old apartment. That worked well for the first few years, but Sawyer made sitting in a bar for three plus hours a little more difficult. Thankfully there’s pay-per-view.

Though I no longer meet up with the group as often, I remain on their email list and always keep an eye out for their special events. I was thrilled when I saw that Dr. Gee was going to be here, and almost bought myself a new bow tie for the occasion, but I think you’ll like what I did even better.

Sawyer was so excited:

So Excited!!!

Sawyer meets Dr. Gee:

Sawyer meets President Gordon Gee!!!

Yep, bow ties! Sawyer’s look was a big hit with everyone, but Dr. Gee liked it most:

Sawyer was very impressed!

And his first corn dog:

First corn dog!!!

To top it all off, Brutus was there too! Sawyer loved him:

Sawyer meets Brutus!

Although I’m not sure he knew what to think of him:

Brutus!!! Scott!!! Sawyer!!!

Brutus!!! Scott!!! Sawyer!!!

It was a beautiful night so instead of taking the train we walked back home:

Up High!

Up High!

Walking along the Embarcadero

Walking along the Embarcadero

Sawyer’s bow tie made everyone who passed smile from ear-to-ear:

As Abby said, “No stopping any time” is Sawyer’s new motto:

No Stopping, Any Time!

No Stopping, Any Time!

He walked about half of the way home, which was more than enough to wear him out:

A little tired after the excitement.

But still cute as can be:

Just being cute.

Thank you for the great pictures, Abby!

Tune in Saturday to see the video. Turns out the women’s basketball team plays in Palo Alto tomorrow night so the cheerleaders and pep band were in town too! Sawyer loved every minute of it.

Sawyer looks like the next great linebacker for the Buckeyes. Just keep feeding him them corndoggies and he’ll be good. Are you sure Gordon Gee isn’t related to him in some way?
