As previously noted, Sawyer has mastered turning over from back to belly. He practices non-stop throughout the day and night, which is great except when he either gets stranded or spits-up from laying on his belly too soon after eating. (gross picture alert)
As he doesn’t know when to take a break from his belly exercises, we sometimes need to intervene by rolling him to his back. We have gotten in the habit of placing pillows or toys on his right side in order to impede his turning back over.
On Sunday, Scott used one of Sawyer’s books as a wedge under his rump in order to keep him from rolling. It worked. To our surprise, though, Sawyer decided to show us how a book is really supposed to be used.
The orange spiky ball is used for teething. He isn’t quite there yet, but he does love to gnaw on it.
We kid you not. He was actually entertaining himself by flipping the pages to see the different bugs on the page. Now if only he learned how to outsmart us by turning over to his left.
