While we were in Ohio, Sawyer, Grandma Penny, and I drove to Spencerville to visit my grandma, aunt, and uncle. We had such a great day.
Great Grandma Doernberg is quite smitten with Sawyer I think.
Sawyer likes her wheels.
Uncle Michael came to visit us all too. He was a great camerman as always.
Before our visit with grandma, Sally made us a great lunch. Jack read Sawyer books and taught him about his truck.
He’s a natural.
Sarah, Michael, and Matthew were all born on February 24th. Michael and Matthew turn 21 today!!! Here is a little trip down memory lane for all.
After an outside tubby on a very hot day last June.
Michael and Sawyer.
Matthew and Sawyer. So glad no one would let us cut the rooster-doo.
Green grasshopper from Sarah and Uncle Kevin.
I wonder what they are wondering about.
The birthday boy with today’s birthday boy.
We were finally able to get artwork other than the awesome robots up in Sawyerland this past weekend. Uncle Michael photographed a wonderful picture of Sawyer last march. It is now framed and up on the wall.
Next I got Aunt Sarah’s Christmas present painting for Sawyer framed and up on the wall too.
It is next to two framed pieces of Sawyer’s artwork from our painting day.
Sawyerland just keeps getting better and better! Sawyer has found a new use for his tunnel. When it is tied up, he uses it as his new recliner.
Sometimes he actually wears himself out. If only that meant he were ready for bed.
Nope, not tired yet!
So, to continue on with the graduation of Matthew and Michael, I feel it only fair to pull out the old pics of Matthew, aka Chewby, from earlier years as well. First a few of the boys together again.
Matthew and Michael, age 3
I absolutely LOVE this picture! Michael, Matthew and our Grandma Addie Doernberg in pretty much every piece of her jewelry.
Here are 2 pics of Matthew in first grade!
One of my favorite Matthew memories is when we asked him to get packed to go to Grandma’s house. We checked in the suitcase when he said he was finished: only his animals had made it into the suitcase. There was no room for anything else.
Here are Matt and I out on the bike path.
So I have shown 2 younger pics of myself, so it is only fair that we bring Scott into the action.
Finally, Matthew being the great uncle he is with Sawyer.
The impetus for our trip home to Ohio was the graduation of my brothers, Michael and Matthew, from high school. It was an absolutely beautiful day for a graduation, and I am so proud of them for their achievement of this goal.
Although I tried to have someone snap at least one picture of the boys next to each other in their caps and gowns, I don’t think it occurred. We will all just have to be happy with these.
Matthew and Michael
Here is Michael, age 5
Here are Michael and I, age 3 and 16 respectively
Sawyer had such an amazing time with Michael. Michael is so good with Sawyer. They are just so sweet together.
Sawyer met his Uncle Matthew and Uncle Michael last week.
Michael took literally hundreds of pictures of Sawyer over the week I was home. We realized at the end of the week that there were no pictures of them together, so I took care of that.
Matthew meets his nephew and learns how to hold him all at once.
