After soccer and a streetcar ride to and from the Ferry Building for lunch with Mema and Pepa T, Sawyer took a big nap. When he woke, it was still a beautiful day, so the five of us hopped back in the fancy truck to go find dinner in Sausalito. As we approached the bridge, Sawyer said, “it’s the Golden Gate Bridge”. Stunner number one.

Once across the bridge, for some reason we decided to explore the Marin Headlands instead of going to dinner right away. A couple of twists and turns later, and we found ourselves waiting at the mouth of a very long tunnel that could only take cars one direction at a time. There was a sign to the side of the road that said it was a five minute wait until we could pass through.

Once on the other side, we found our way to Rodeo Beach. It was windy and kind of cold, but Sawyer didn’t mind. He went right for the water:

On the way back from Rodeo Beach, Sawyer said something to the effect of, “let’s have dinner next”. Stunner number two. While dinner provided an unfortunate setting, an unpleasant smell, and surprisingly not awful pizza, the real action came afterward as Sawyer found the display outside of Sausalito Ferry:

I have no idea how we were able to keep him out of that store, though he did run back one more time to check out its display again. What a fun way to end to a very fun day.

A few weeks ago, Sawyer and I went to Sausalito for some fun in the sun. I found a grassy area to let him run around in, which he seemed to enjoy, although he kept trying to escape. He also chased pigeons and ate ice cream in this park, and by “ate” I mean he mostly just smeared it all over his face. No video of that unfortunately.

You’ll hear the word he uses for the bottle about half-way through the video. I never realized how often he says it, and believe it or not it’s almost always the same group of sounds:

I have no idea how to spell that. Do you?
