Tonight, we debut Sawyer’s new Cars pajamas, a gift from his Grandma and Grandpa Truitt. Clearly he felt a rush of energy from that movie as he immediately launched into a marathon session of walking / running back and forth in his room. Here’s the recap.

I don’t think we have much longer to wait before Sawyer ditches his Walker (Texas Ranger) and takes off on his own two feet. He’s starting to stand up with just a light touch to brace himself, and often forgets to do even that much. And when he sits in his high chair, he bounces back and forth as if he’s running in a wide open field — I have to find the video of that, there is no way words can describe it. Have we mentioned he’s now dancing to music? He never, ever stops.

I think the three of us are finally over our colds, just in time for my brother to visit this weekend. We’ll see you Friday, Kevin!

Sawyer loves his doggie, Taddy Porter, but he now has a new puppy pal, ZiZi. ZiZi was a gift from his Grandparents Truitt. Sawyer placed every part of ZiZi in his mouth before pulling off his tail, a teething ring, and carrying it with him throughout the day. So far, that is his favorite part with the wheels and ears coming in a close second and third.

These four videos are an excellent illustration of a typical a morning with Sawyer:

I hope he knows how important this morning is: I get to watch my beloved Buckeyes in just over an hour. Nothing like a 9am kickoff to start the weekend off right!

I’m not sure what that mission is, but he’s on it.

Can you see me?

Can you see me?

Nope. I’m stealthy.

I'm invisable.

I’ve got my moose. Thanks Uncle Kevin and Aunt Sarah!

On a mission.

Moosie Moose only looks warm and cuddly. He’s tough too.

Yes, I see.

I look so innocent.

Camo-cute.

Yes, I am camo-cute, but I am tough too.

Taddy is my cover…literally.

Over the weekend, I went to Ikea to pick up a few things for our new apartment. On my way past the children’s section, I saw a tunnel hanging from the ceiling. Of course I had to buy it.

When I got home and showed Abby, I noticed the label said 18 months and up. I mentioned that to my mom, but she said let him have it. Later that afternoon, I did:

I let him play with it a few more times over the weekend, putting Taddy Porter at one end to entice him through, which made him laugh out loud. I’m pretty sure he crawled through on his hands and knees tonight, but didn’t have the camera close by to capture it. I’ll have it ready next time.

As many of you know, I have allergies. Having a dog would be unfortunately make me pretty sick most of the time. So many years ago, Scott and I tried to have a dog, of sorts, perhaps you may remember our robotic Sony Aibo, named Bibo. He came down with DHS, Droopy Head Syndrome, and has been in need of repair for a long time. Sony discontinued making them a few years ago, so Bibo may never be complete again.

Anyway, during a play date with the baby group, Sawyer spotted a stuffed doggie from across the room. He immediately made his way to it. It was love at first sight. I knew that this would be a perfect new friend for him. His given name by Babystyle.com is Porter. Scott has always said that if we were to have a real dog, real = alive not robotic, he would like to call him Taddy Porter. That cemented it for me.

His name is Taddy Porter

Ruff, Ruff.

I think Sawyer was trying to feed Taddy a cookie.

Are you hungry Taddy?

I'm the top dog around here.
